Yahaya Bello Diverted $720K Says EFCC, Ex-Gov. Afraid Of Arrest + Remi Tinubu In Osun| W/Ojy Okpe

The case of embattled former governor of Kogi State Yahaha Bello has taken a different turn as the anti-graft agency revealed on Tuesday, that the former governor withdrew $720,000 from the state’s accounts, to pay for tuition for his child, in advance, just before he left office on January 27th 2024.

EFCC Chair, Ola Olukoyede made this known, during a chat with journalists at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Olukoyode swore to follow the prosecution of the ex-governor to logical conclusion, saying that he will resign as EFCC chairman if Bello is not prosecuted.

Counsel to the embattled former governor of Kogi state, Adedayo Adedipe, said the ex governor is ready to confront the Federal High Court in Abuja regarding the 19-count indictment, filed against him by the EFCC, but that he was worried about being taken into custody.

Bello’s lawyer, asked the court to revoke the exparte order of arrest it had previously imposed on the former governor, arguing that the charge had not been served on his client as required by law at the time the warrant of arrest was made; and that it was only at the resumed proceedings on Tuesday, that the court okayed substituted service of the charge on the defendant, through his lawyer.

In the videos, Namtira was surrounded by her colleagues who watched as Maryam dealt her smacks on her face, the students were heard making comments such as “Who broke my heart” and you spoilt her relationship”.

The video attracted a chorus of condemnation on social media, with Nigerians demanding that measures be taken to punish the culprit.

The school management, in a statement on Tuesday said it had begun an investigation into the matter and that the school will be closed for three days.

Some parents trooped to the school in protest, while a visibly upset relative of Namtira was seen this video berating Maryam and even dealt her a slap.

She also highlighted her decade-long advocacy for special schools for young girls and reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring the full implementation of the project nationwide.

She also praised the collaboration with the First Lady of Osun State, Titilola Adeleke, in addressing the critical issue of girls’ education.
