WATCH: George Floyd memorial holds moment of silence for 8 minutes, 46 seconds

The memorial service for George Floyd in Minneapolis concluded with the Rev. Al Sharpton asking the attending mourners for an extended moment of silence. The moment of silence lasted 8 minutes and 46 seconds— the time that Floyd was held to the ground by police officers on May 25 before his death. The service — the first in a series of memorials set for three cities over six days — unfolded at a sanctuary at North Central University on June 4.
