Flourish Sebastine’s hat-trick propels Nigeria’s Super Falconets to 3-1 win over Senegal in FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup Qualifier

The Falconets have made light of their qualification route to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, Costa Rica 2022 after defeating Senegal 3-1 in the first leg at Stade Lat-Dior in Thies.
The all-West African clash saw the Falconets opening the scoring in the 8th minute through Flourish Sabastine.

The goal seemed to have given the girls confidence as they piled up pressure on the Senegalese while searching for the second goal.

At the restart of the second half, Hapsatou Diallo twice attempted to level matters for Senegal but her first came off the crossbar to the relief of the bench.

In the 56th minute, Sabastine doubled the lead for the Falconets, tapping in a fine cross from Mercy Idoko.

With the euphoria of scoring 2 goals yet to settle, Edo Queens winger, Sabastine scored her hat trick in the 61st minute after sending the goalkeeper in the wrong direction to bag her treble from the spot.

With the game gradually coming to an end, the Falconets looked to add more and also maintain their unblemished record of not conceding a goal.

That however failed to happen as Goalkeeper Oyono brought down Wolimata Ndiaye.

Adji Ndiaye stepped up and pulled one back from the spot as Oyono and the Falconets conceded the first goal in the ongoing African qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the return leg will take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Saturday, 26th March.
