NYPD Chief Of Department To Gov. Cuomo: Don’t Ever Call Police Ineffective | TODAY

Terence Monahan, chief of department of the New York Police Department, tells TODAY that there were “a lot peaceful protests” in New York overnight, and that “the earlier curfew really helped our cops take out of our neighborhoods people who didn’t belong there.” He reacts to criticism of the NYPD by New York Gov. Cuomo, saying “Don’t ever call them ineffective,” and adds that Cuomo’s office later called to apologize. He reports that “we’ve made a lot of arrests of people outside the New York area” and calls for peace, saying “we have to look at one another as human.”
