The Nigerian government has re-arrested the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. He was first arrested on October 14 ,2015, and granted bail in April 2017 on health grounds.

To get the wheel of justice back on course, Nnamdi Kanu has been arraigned before the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms, and management of an unlawful society .

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami told journalists on Tuesday that Kanu was arrested and repatriated to Nigeria from the UK on Sunday following a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.
