Ghana Elections I Vote counting begins as presidential and parliamentary polls conclude

Ghanaians voted in presidential and parliamentary elections on Monday. The race for the top job is being called “the battle of two giants”, and is expected to be a close fight between President Nana Akufo-Addo and longtime opponent John Mahama, a former President. It’s the first election since democracy was re-established in 1992 without the physical influence of the late former President Jerry Rawlings. Both candidates are offering plans to help the economy rebound from its first quarterly contraction in nearly 40 years. SABC correspondent Nabil Ahmed Rufai joins me now from Accra.
