Protesters gathered in Washington, D.C. on Saturday in the latest demonstrations against anti-Black racism and police brutality.

The protests have taken place across the U.S. and globally for nearly three weeks after George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man, died in police custody on Memorial Day.

Floyd died of asphyxiation as a result of a white police officer kneeling on his neck for nearly nine minutes while other officers pinned him to the ground. Floyd’s death sparked weeks of global protests against anti-Black racism and police brutality.
