George Floyd London protests: Journalist accosted live on air as scuffles break out

An Australian reporter is accosted live on air during protests in London.

Nine News journalist Ben Avery and camera operator Cade Thompson were near the Houses of Parliament when protesters started jostling them before they ran away.

Thousands of people had gathered to demonstrate following the killing of George Floyd in the US, protesting against police violence and racial injustice.

The demonstration began in Hyde Park, with protesters chanting “Black Lives Matter,” before many of them later marched through the streets, blocking traffic.

Police advanced towards crowds of demonstrators with batons, eventually making several arrests.
