Roxie Washington, the mother of George Floyd’s six-year-old daughter, Gianna, delivered an emotional speech on Tuesday in the wake of his death.

“He will never see her grow up,” she said tearfully. “He will never walk her down the aisle.”

Washington delivered the powerful words during a media availability in Minneapolis, Minn.

Floyd, a Black man, died of suffocation in police custody after video showed a white Minneapolis police officer kneeling on his neck.

Washington was followed by Floyd’s brother, who said he “is through crying” and “ready to get justice” for his brother.
