Today’s rescue run was anything but calm! These feisty seals made it clear they weren’t ready to trust the rescuers, lunging and trying to bite as they reached for him. Their wild fight for survival is pure instinct. They are determined to live. One of them even had to be put into a “time-out” in the rescue net!
But no matter how fierce, no seal can outfight plastic. It’s an unnatural, unfair enemy that takes uncounted lives at sea. We’ll always take the bites, scratches, and battles if it means saving one more life.
