💉 The Medic Who Saved 75 Men Without Firing a Shot 🎖️⚰️

On May 2, 1945, Army medic Desmond Doss saved 75 wounded soldiers on Okinawa without carrying a weapon. As a Seventh-day Adventist, he refused to kill but served as a combat medic. Under heavy Japanese fire at Hacksaw Ridge, he lowered 75 wounded men down a 400-foot cliff using rope-supported litters. Despite being wounded by grenade shrapnel, he continued rescuing soldiers for 12 hours. He became the first conscientious objector to receive the Medal of Honor.
