The Deacon is one of the most fascinating creatures in the Alien franchise, first appearing at the end of Prometheus. Born when the giant Trilobite creature impregnates the last surviving Engineer, the Deacon is a terrifying proto-Xenomorph that bursts from the Engineer’s chest in the film’s final moments. Its sleek, blueish body, razor-sharp teeth, and elongated head make it feel like the missing link between the black goo experiments and the Xenomorphs we see later in the series. This scene perfectly shows how the Engineers’ own bioweapon turned against them, setting the stage for the horrors of Alien: Covenant and beyond.
