I bought an IR volume control from Banggood for my workshop and discovered a minor fault that had to be fixed. Works great, and has a nice range too. I’ll probably use this to control the volume of my Amazon Alexa, as that is connected to my PC via BlueTooth (it’s a bit of a convoluted wiring system in my workshop).

My thermionic valve (vacuum tube) preamp arrived after I finished filming but that’s for another day (picture in this video).

Finally, an update on my Smart Phone Charger which is now happily charging my phone at up to 1 Amp.
